A family argument over whether the Earth is flat or round became so heated that one of the participants threw a propane cylinder onto a campfire, prompting an intervention by firefighters.

We are doomed. Not only because some idiot doesn't understand the concequences of putting a propane cylynder on the fire, but that someone could still believe that earth is flat.

We have equally compelling evidence of climate change and yet...

Never underestimate people's propensity to self-delusion.

I blame both conditions on the school system that rewards adequacy. ;)

Police said a 56-year-old Brockville man was at a campsite with his son and his son's girlfriend when the woman began insisting that the Earth is flat.

The older man insisted the Earth is round.

The reporter makes this sound like a valid point of debate.

Everyone is entitled to a wrong opinion. Even while using the GPS on their cell phone. ;)

This one is just silly, but in a time when young people are imbued with this bullshit of not being judgmental or about saying that there's only one truth then the girl's "open minded" consideration of a flat earth is then consistent with the liberal war on truth.

Our society is reaping what we have sown in the next generation.

No, I wouldn't say that. The reporter said...
It's not clear if anyone at the campfire put forth the argument that the Earth's equatorial bulge makes it not perfectly round, but instead a shape known as an oblate spheroid.

It's a flat earth that causes global warming.
