The information included how much money individual band leaders made during the year, no matter whether the income came from federal funding or the First Nations business interests.
I think a compromise might be allowing any and all band memebers to access the information on incomes, rather than all the Canadian public, as they are the ones who suffer the most due to financial mismanagement.....they also know where the chief and council lives.
Yeah not bad. Also the private income they make from their own private ventures or side emplyment should be off limits as it's irrelevant. I don't see why they have to report that.

Agreed. But we had a chief here who made a fortune because the band sold a piece of land to the province. This was a commission, not his band salary. Anything like that should be public as well. I think there's a lot of gray where a chief and his cronies have income that's sort of band related, but not directly. Again, if it involves the band at all, it should be made public.

Because the money is ours, they need to be accountable to rest of Canadian taxpayers as well.

This.
It looks like the FNs are just waiting for the election, hoping for Justine or Mulcair to be elected, and then this will all just go away.
