I heard that on the Radio this morning. It's actually a pretty big scandal in South Africa! No one knows who the interpreter was, but he wasn't signing any known method.

From what I've read he was hired by the SA Gov. He has done sign language before in that nation with no issue. Seems he has been covering up the fact that he has mental issues and, from what he is saying, had an episode during the event.
As for the pictures above I'm more disappointed that he was doing a meme with others. I know everyone is saying this was a joy filled occasion celebrating Mandela's life. Yet there is a certain decorum expected from heads of states, these three failed IMO.
In regards to the handshake so many are yelling about, who cares it's a freaking handshake at a memorial for a man viewed around the world as a freedom loving person and unifier of people. Sometimes a handshake is just a handshake.
