The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Thursday the people were arrested for firearms violations, threats, intimidation, mischief and violating a court-ordered injunction near Rexton.

The RCMP say at least five of their vehicles have been destroyed after they were set on fire, Molotov cocktails were thrown at officers, and at least one shot was fired by someone who isn't a police officer.

No, Indians are a hard working people, whose culture provides some delicious, but incredibly spicy foods. These are just fucktards who the Canadian government does fuck all about because...something. I think racism. Not sure how it's racist to arrest people shooting guns wildly and burning cars, while obstructing and trespassing a private enterprise, but I'm not the Canadian government.

Thewy don't want it to blow up. That's the reason. The natives are plenty upset from one coast to the other, and they have shown an inclination to raise the stakes when faced with force.

In this case, I fully expect the First Nations to talk belligerantly and continue their blockade. Eventually they will go into lockdown, like Oka.

This is a strategy that has workd for them in the past--like Oka, for example.

Governments do not like flare-ups of inter-racial tension. It can quickly get out of control, and loss of control is the biggest fear of any government, regardless of political stripe. In canada we appease, in teh US they just go in and kill evverybody (Wounded Knee, Waco) and in England they take it out on the EDL.

From what I read, the blockade is effectively over. 40+ arrests.

You can always wait till Alberta and BC come to a deal on the Northern Gateway Pipeline. Then there will be all sorts of protests.
