Saskatchewan band chief given annual 'Teddy' waste award

A Saskatchewan First Nation chief who earns more than the prime minister has won the dubious distinction of an award given annually for wasteful use of taxpayer dollars.

For the second year running, Alberta has been awarded the provincial Teddy.

This year, it goes to former Alberta Tourism Minister Christine Cusanelli, who billed taxpayers when she took her mother and daughter to the London Olympics..

Cusanelli later paid the money back when she got caught.

One of Alison Redford's new wave and probably just the tip of the glad-handing free-for-all iceberg. Cusanelli's the poster child for the AB government thus far.

Sweet. Chief Roger Redman gets the equivalent of $318,000 a year for administering a reserve of less than 500 people. And each of his councillors makes more than the Premier of Saskatchewan, who earns $154,000.
