Anyone whos ever watched a kids hockey game has likely seen them: overly aggressive parents taking their childrens game far too seriously. Now, signs posted at rinks across Canada are using a bit of humour to remind these parents what we all want to sa

What a wonderful idea these signs are - approaching the issue with humor is exactly the right touch. Good on these rinks. Hope it spreads to every single rink.

The existential sadness of all of human experience can be summed up in signs like this, in that society has to put up signs in the first place in order to remind some people not to be assholes. :|

    Love the one comment though:

I was a zamboni guy for ten years. I've seen it all. If your goal in life is to meet as many deluded jackasses as possible a hockey arena is the best place to go.

Actually, the ones that need to read them are physically unable to. At least that would be my assumption when one's head is up one's ass.

I wore the stripes for more than 20 years. I'm only surprised by how little of the outrageous behaviour that goes on at rinks in this country ends up on the news and in the papers. It's truly a national shame the way so many seemingly normal Canadians act in our arenas.

Not limited to hockey, I umpired baseball for years and some of the parents needed sensitivity training there too. I threw a few of them out and some of those got extended time outs anywhere from a few games to the rest of the year.
