The trend has been steady in the last six years that Angus Reid has conducted this poll. Mr. Trudeau has been the respondents? favourite every year, while Mr. Harper has steadily overtaken Brian Mulroney as ?worst.?

This is your legacy Harper. The only one more hated than Mulroney. :)

    I love polls like this.

26% say he's the worst PM but he's the second favourite PM of all time?

Would it be odd for me to admit Trudeau is still the only PM I respect?

Considering it's you who's saying it? Nope, not odd at all.

He's the only one I hate with a passion.

Angus Reid conducted the survey with 1,510 Canadians on Aug. 30 and 31. It has a margin of error of 2.5 per cent, 19 times out of 20.

1,510 Canadians...................which 99% of them weren't even born when he was in power.

Harper the worst PM in history - nope, I think Mulroney was far worse.

Harper's pretty much middle of the road as far as I'm concerned - he could do a lot better, but he's got a ways to go before he hits Mulroney's level.

People think strongly about the current PM? Shocking.

Exactly. They're just trying to whip up nostalgia to boost Junior's attempt at leadership. I lived through those years as well, and at the time I thought he was cool. Looking back now though................I think he was a doofus.

Same, except I don't know about doofus.

He put some things into motion that shouldn't have been touched,
and others where the results are only beginning to show.

Certainly not as bad as Muldoon, and Harper by comparison is a
    stone boring civil serpent.

Except for the hysterical people, of course. :)

Even Mulroney wasn't the worst, Harper is far from it. When I was younger, being a Westerner, I was a Trudeau hater, but even he was a good PM in retrospect. In fact, I can't think of one bad PM in my lifetime. If one of these is the worst PM ever, then we have had some very good PMs.

You can have a bad PM at the head of a good government. Mulroney absolutely was a bad PM. He's a goddamn criminal who sued his country for defamation when he got caught, so he certainly was a terrible Prime Minister and a solid candidate for the worst we've had. His government, however, did a pretty good job while he was PM. That's a distinction you missed.

Joe Clark was the best PM, not because he is a good guy, but because his tenure was very short.

Cretien was the best PM overall, but I hated his guts with a passion. But I could respect him on some levels.
