As much as I love the works of Bram Stoker and the 80's RADness that is the original Lost Boys,I sometimes wish the tales of vampires remained in the mythology section and stayed the h-e-double hockey sticks out of mainstream popular culture... Just like I love reading the Brothers Grimm and their compilation of German folklore, modern Hollyweird is not doing the stories any justice...

Zombies may be a thing of horror movies, but recently there has been a lot of evidence of their existence.
First, there was the naked man in Miami who was eating another man's face. Then, a college student in Maryland confessed to police that he killed a man and ate his heart and part of his brain. Finally, a man in New Jersey stabbed himself dozens of times and threw bits of his intestines at police. People said he was walking like a zombie.
Those events all happening close together was enough to get people talking and terms like "zombie apocalypse" were trending most days last week.

As usual, Canada is ignored by the US.

Looks like Hollywood is causing some damage here. Funny how people didn't rush out and do horrible things after reading the Grimm tales.

That's not always a bad thing. Mexico gets more of our attention because they're a pain in our ass. Canada is mostly ignored, true, but we're also not building a wall on our mutual border with you good people.

We've got our people eaters too, and it's time we got the recognition we deserve for it.

Yes. Always a bridesmaid and never a bride.

Nope, the CPC (Cannibal Party of Canada) reports they taste rather good. Always nicer to eat vegetarians than other meat eaters.

Let me add zombies to this list... in all forms. Especially flash mobs... not even zombie flash mobs, just all in general.

From another poster on this board came this gem in pm:

The Zombies we have to worry about are the carpet kissing, diaper headed goons shouting Allah Akbar.

And, to some extent, he's right. I read an article not so long ago that said that zombies in entertainment are a PC substitute for Muslims in the current day just as the zombies were a proxy for communists forty years ago.

Bah. The great thing about zombie movies is that the viewer can pretend they're a metaphor for whatever they want.
