Put down? There owners were already dead, the dogs were starving. Anybody would turn to cannabalism if the situation called for it. People who have been trapped and had no way out had turned to cannabalism and when they got out despite regret for what they did. They diddn't go on some cannibal killing spree, it was a survival method.

That would be some messed up shit if they put down these dogs for just trying to survive. Obviously special consideration should be met before releasing these dogs to be adopted by a family with kids but jumping to putting down these dogs before they are even evaluated is messed up.

"Those dogs need to be put down," she said. "You can't place a dog that's been eating on human flesh for two or three weeks and put it in a home where there might be a child."

Why? Eating human flesh to survive and not starve to death makes them rabid killers all of a sudden?

ALL dogs are alive and unharmed. That means they didn't fight with each other. That means they are not mean dogs, but great pets that ran out of food.

Well, at least let prospective owners know the history so they can make an informed decision, when Rover gives them that strange look.

Have to wonder though how many people will want to adopt them, knowing what happened.
Even if your logical mind says "no problem", sometimes logic loses.

Why would they be wrestling with the fate of these dogs? It is not as though the dogs attacked the people and then ate them. They just did what dogs and cats, for that matter, will do when faced with starvation - eat the nearest thing.

I went to a call in the UK that was really bad. The guy had a heart attack, crashed down the stairs and his dog ate his face. The CSI type pictures were really awful.

Wow Bart. I had always thought the only pics you had on your compy were useful war-related ones for the CKA message boards. Didn't know you had any uber-cuteness pics. Is that a soft side to you I see?

The dogs aren't cannibals...cannibalism is when you eat your own species.

They've develoed a taste for human flesh, they must be put down. Would you like to be forced to fight for your life with a six pound sheltie? Arrgggh! Worse than those Monty Python killer rabbits!
