CBC News has learned there are strong signs that the province's new American Hockey League franchise will be called the St. John's Ice Caps.

    Too many jokes about the ice caps melting and disappearing. Ice caps are threatened,not threatening. Also the ice cap doesn't extend to St. John's. Icebergs would be much more appropriate
