War may be hell, but that didn't seem to deter tens of thousands of would-be soldiers who applied to join the ranks of the Canadian Forces over the course of Canada's combat mission in Afghanistan.

Tons of kids wanting to have a great adventure, not that there is anything wrong with that.

I'm sure that 98% of them don't know on what they've signed. Just young psycho, who don't know how serious is that job and how looks their future coffin if they'll do something wrong.

Adventure is one of the reasons many young men and women join the military. Danger is part of that job, but so too is it part of the job description for police officer and firefighter. Don't think you would call them psychos.

You mean police officers who have to deal with the increased gang populations and there growing violence expecially towards police officers. I imagine when gangs have over a million members all running around with AK-47's, UZI's and Machine Pistols that would be no issue for police officers. They are just sitting at the police station "not doing shit".

Firefighters, they may enter buildings that are on fire and have recieved severe structure damage that at any time can either cave in on them or have them fall into lower levels and break there legs surrounded by fire. Anything can go wrong as a firefighter entering a burning building but they have to do it so they can rescue people trapped inside. Indeed even these guys "aren't doing shit".

Every generation of soldiers has been youth, there goes that saying "peace is where sons bury there fathers, war is where fathers bury there sons". There are many reasons for joining the military, non of which are psycho. Neither is wanting adventure. Everybody wants more out of there lives. Some people get a new car, others go sky diving. I don't see the issue here.

Man, I'm European, I don't understand what "peace" US is looking for on middle east. "Terorism" is way of war. US keep their citizens in silent by showing how they are trying to fight with it. People afraid, because those who atack, can make it in every time and place. So states blowed up a very big balloon called "Terorism" and attach their own army and troops of others, including Canada. Ok, all we have motherland, and if it needs us, we are ready. There must be peace on our planet and Uncle Sam will help because they are main and have money for this and blah blah blah. Terorists are simple criminal gangs who fight for ideology, money and glory. We must destroy them. I agree, but we are not speaking about proffesionals who are already there, we speak about narrow minded boys who don't want to serve for their country, they just want to have fun. And about their entertaiment we will read in newspapers: "ten soldiers raped woman", "one man was tortured by US (Canadian, Italian, Ukrainian... soldiers)" etc. We have to know good, what people go there and what they will be doing there. (Without offences)
Cop who is proffesional will be never doing shit. In some news headlines we can meet those who do it. Cop is shooting only if there is danger to his life. Firefighters destroy property, but they save life doing this.
I don't mean that only psychos are doing dangerous jobs.

    Aha.. i got it.

PF, 'doing shit' in English means doing nothing.

Better to just say ' doing bad things '. or ' improper ' things.

    You confuse the people. ;)
