Canada's military mission in Libya has cost $26 million and the price tag could more than double if it's extended until the fall, Defence Minister Peter MacKay said during a NATO summit in Brussels.

So for the price of one G8/G20, we could have 38.5 Libya deployments that last longer? How in the Hell does that work? :?

Libya isn't in any Cabinet Minister's riding.

If the cause is just, the cost is just. From what I've seen through media sources and listening to Lybians in Canada the cause is just.

If it costs this country 26 million dollars to get rid of a longtime dictator, then I say money well spent.

That's quite the bargain considering it probably cost the Yanks $26 million just to transit one of their carriers into the region, never mind operational costs. That should be the new CF motto: "Completed missions at bargain basement prices"

What is the cost to have them sitting idle or training in Canada?

Complete waste of money being spent bombing someone who was playing ball.

And just watch how much money will be completely thrown away after,
giving money to a new government..

Libya's opposition Finance Minister Ali Tarhouni told the meeting, being held to prepare for the post-Gadhafi era in Libya, that the country would be a "total failure" if financial assistance was not forthcoming.

Assholes haven't even won, and already crying.

I only ask because, Daffy is still in power and they say the cost will be in the ball park of 60 mill in the next few months. So really your statement shows a complete lack of comprehension. :? Maybe you should read it again...
