That's a good thing, means 1/5 Canadians prefer outside entertainment than inside entertainment.

No, it means that they can't afford it.

Sorry, but not every Canadian is entitled to the Internet.

Not every Canadian is entitled to clean water or 3 meals a day either.

That's the funny thing, legally, they are not necessities.

A lot of those people are living in the boonies, natives on reserves and such. We should ensure that as close to possible, every Canadian has access to the internet, but it doesn't have to be a home service, ie it could be a shared service like at libraries etc.

There was nothing funny about your comment. The two things aren't even in the same ballpark. It's laughable.

No, what is laughable is that we bitch about not being able to have internet while there are still people without clean water in this country. And the right to get it is the same. None.

Almost every Library has Internet access already...even some of those in reserves and in the boonies.

A lot of seniors have never had the internet nor do they see the need. This is a growing demographic. Those that have had it in the business world prior to retirement seem to stay with it and those that retired 10 or more years ago are less likely to bother. So in addition to the poor there is a population segment that is not interested in using the internet be they seniors or middle aged people who just are not interested in the web.

Another way of looking at it is 80% of the homes do have internet which is pretty impressive for a country that has large areas with very low population densities.
