Shortly after U.S. President Barack Obama announced an American commando unit had killed Osama bin Laden late Sunday night, questions arose about how the al-Qaeda leader's body was handled.

I must admit that we aren't overly concerned about disrespecting OBL corpse.

I would either bury him covered in pigs blood or put him in a field where we could come and piss on him.

A U.S official said bin Laden was buried in the North Arabian Sea because it was difficult to find a country to accept his remains. When pressed by reporters about which countries had been contacted, the official said, "I'm not going into details of those conversations."

Exactly who would want a mass murder taking up a few square meters of their country?

Some Muslim scholars argued that burying bin Laden at sea was disrespectful and that he should have been buried on land with his head facing toward Mecca.

The AP also quoted Dubai's grand mufti, Mohammed al-Qubaisi, saying that sea burials were permissible only in extraordinary circumstances, adding: "This is not one of them."

Allah may be all knowing and powerful, but if you're not buried on land with your head facing towards Mecca, He can't get you into Heaven. That is outside His power.

I thought it showed real class to give respect to someone who deserved none. But the Muslim scholars should look into the burrial of the 3000 or so that he was responsible for killing.

In situations like this, governments try to avoid a land burial, because the site has the potential to attract extremist followers and become a shrine.

I'm betting this is the main reason why they dumped his ass into the sea.

This turd was afforded more respect at his burial than thousands of his victims were. I hope the sharks don't get food poisoning.

Should have fired his ass off the deck with a catapult.

Bastard would have flown quite a ways.

They're lucky they didn't display him at Ground Zero for a week, and then see what's left of the body to dispose of.

I've said it before, it was a big mistake to bury that guy at sea. Just look at what happened with Megatron and all those bad guys in the "Pirates of the Caribbean".

Yes, particularly if they use the same catapult that they use to launch aircraft, it would have been quite a mess and we wouldn't him to stain any Navy ships.

Perhaps what the American Indians did to General Custer when they killed him at the Little Big Horn would be fitting, ie, cut him to ribbons.

No what they should have done is stuck his corpse in a wood chipper and fed the remains to pigs. That's what he deserved.
