An attempt to classify tar sands oil as more environmentally-damaging than conventional oil would effectively ban its sale within European Member States

I'm sure they'll be more then happy to get their nice clean oil from Libya ... unless the new government decides to sell it to China.

The US is trying some of the same bullshit. We should be building pipelines east west in Canada and just use our own oil. Sorry, just use Alberta's oil.

The US talks a good talk in front of the cameras (particulary the Dems) but behind the sceen they are signing all sorts of deals with us. Keystone XL is set to kick off next summer and there are plenty more in the planning stages.

I wonder how those Canada - E.U. free trade talks are going...

Yeah, but do we, sorry, you, want to keep pumping the oil down south when pretty soon it will be a wasteland down there? The oil will just dribble out of the pipe with nobody there to use it. Isn't it better to send it to those bastards back east.

In not so many years there will be an oil shortage and people will start screaming for cheaper energy. It'll be awful.

Wow. You want to take all of Alberta's oil and ship it to us "bastards" out east and your theory is that "we are all Canadians".

We'll only put a 10% premium per barrell on it, just because we consider you family

Now you know why we get all our oil from overseas. Never buy a car from family.

Does any Canadian oil actually make it to Europe?

The oil industry should think twice about investing billions of dollars in expanding tar sands developments. They could end up producing a fuel that nobody wants.

Like they're gonna have a choice in 20 years.
Oil is here to stay and it ain't going away until it runs out.
This is just a partial list of things made with oil.

How much of our oil ends up in the EU? Too bad we don't have that pipeline to the West Coast up and running. Japan would be our biggest customer.

It's coming - TMX (Trans Mountain Crossing) set to kick off 2012-2013, Gateway 2013-2014.

I dunno tho. Do we really want all that Alberta oil flowing thru our province, and making a mess of our beautiful ocean if it spills? Who's going to pay to clean that up? It's got our natives all upset too.

Don't know but both all ready pretty much a done deal. Just a matter of ordering the pipe now.

Oh and just wait, those are only two lines. Spectra is going to loop the whole West Coast system (but those are mostly gas). 8O
