TV ads too loud? Talk to the CRTC

Ever noticed that TV commercials seem to be louder than the program? So has Canada's broadcast regulator.

I'm already freakin deaf from having TV commercials come on at decibel levels that'd make the Who cringe.

I'm mostly liberal but on that issue, I would agree that's really annoying and should be regulated. I like the quote of the guy saying that Canadians should not have to adjust the volume of his TV every time there's an ad. If I choose a volume to watch a channel, I want that volume.

It shouldn't be regulated but sadly the market isn't going to do the right thing and this will fix it.

I fucking hate it! I have an 18 month old daughter. I can't relax after she's in bed cause I have to sit with the remote and play with the volune every time an ad comes on. It seems like it's getting worse too. I've reached the point where whatever prioduct is on the screen when my daughter is startled into screaming awakness... I won't ever buy again. Worst part is i'm pretty sure I'm down to 2 kinds of beer and one kind of car now...
