Good, being a hate crime he should never get out. POS. He's a racist piece of shit, sounds like the guy he beat up will never be the same, he should ROT IN JAIL until he's dead. And put him in a cell with a giant gay black man!!

And yet we had two teens and an adult kick the living shit out of a kid here in Vancouver. The kid had a promising career as a golf pro ahead of him, but will now never be the same and always require some assistance in living.

The two teens involved got 3 months house arrest, the adult 2 years prison.

Guess what the race of the attackers vs the victim were.

The description in this story does not indicate a hate crime. They didn't go after a black man, but a man they thought was a rival gang member, who are all black. Gangs go after each other no matter what their relative skin color. When the African Mafia (racist term right there) beats up a white guy, will they get the same sort of sentencing? I doubt it.

I'm glad this kid got a serious sentence. But I'm not happy that we apply laws in racist ways.

And why did this kid get 14 years, when the bangers in Esquimalt who put a Chinese kid in a permanent coma got a couple of years of juvie and were out in no time, and back in again? Our sentencing provisions are bullshit, where very similar crimes can get way dissimilar sentences.

But it'd be okay if he'd done the same to a member of his own race. Gotcha.

Before we start celebrating the apparent testosterone injection to our judicial system I'd like to point out one thing?

My guess would be that he'll never see anywhere near that amount of time and this is just another paper exercise to make us think our judicial system is actually punishing criminals, when the reality is otherwise.

Your right, though putting him in Headingly is a start, he's not in juvie right now, we all know he won't do 14 years even if he's sentenced to 14 he'll be out before it's up.
