And that would be different how?

Canadian on death row in U.S. loses last appeal; only hope hangs on clemency

But the no-intervention stance defended at the time by Harper and Justice Minister Rob Nicholson as consistent with his government's tough-on-crime policies was ruled "unlawful" last year by the Federal Court, which ordered Canadian officials to restart their lobbying effort to prevent Smith's execution.

The US is about to commit the crime of murder. Our government is required by law to stop them.

Well, if all you want to do is highjack this thread, at least be polite enough

and open one for this guy.

Or better yet, go down to the courthouse yourself, if you are so worried.

Take the fucking dippers with you, maybe we can apply for a group rate. :P

In the meantime, if the dippers dotn like a law.. oh just ignore it.

Or better yet, wait for the imperialist Harper to leave office.

    Same group, same methods.

I just showed you a case of the Cons ignoring a law. Which law are you referring to the NDP ignoring?

What gets me is terrorist Tamils and other terrorists can show up wily nilly and they get the red carpet rolled out to them.. Something is wrong with this picture.
You get crapped on because of your convictions but others can come here and plan our demise.

They sure do get it rolled out..They are held for a short time and then cleared to live in Toronto with all the start up allowance and other handouts. Your post is outdated from August. Lots of them have been released into the Tamil community in Toronto. There are only 5 or so who are being detained.

Canada shouldn't allow deserters to stay. The last paragraph of the article states it perfectly.
The Conservatives have stated that unlike the thousands of conscientious objectors who fled to Canada during the Vietnam war, the newest arrivals voluntarily joined the United States military and deserted to avoid serving in Iraq.

They entered military service voluntarily. They were not drafted. You should know what you are promising to do before raising your hand and taking the oath.

In the Armed Forces EXCEPT the National Guard (Army or Air)

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Commie Chow sounds off again. She didn't mind living in subsidized housing in Toronto with her tree-hugging Jack - off husband Layton. While they were Toronto counsellors. Stupid Bitch!

Wow such an intelligent argument to add to the discussion. Were you on the Grade Four Debating Team?

Normally I would say the deserters should be sent back. They volunteered so they should fulfill their obligations. But there was a movie on history channel last night called StopLos. This is about soldiers that have done what they agreed to do but are forced to reenlist. I think if any of the soldiers being forced to do this came to Canada thet should have the right to stay
