The faint whiff of marijuana smoke wafted through the air of the House of Commons Monday when a pot activist lit up a joint as Parliamentarians traded barbs during Question Period.

"My wife can't smoke her medication because she has lung cancer, so I make the butter and smoothies," Mellace said in a news release issued prior to his stunt. "It's ridiculous to think that I could go to jail for easing my wife's suffering."

    Couldn't agree more.

Yeah but there's really no point is refusing people access to it.

This is coming from the guy who believes in communism. Thanks for providing my morning laugh.

I personally have no problems with people who smoke pot, as long as we have a means to prevent them from working while using. No special smoke breaks.

They should force feed pot laced air into the house of commons. Probably improve govt a whole lot. Before really important votes - acid in the drinking water.

This pot activist should have been charged the same fine that a person caught smoking cigarettes in a public place would get.

That should have been a very expensive joint for him to smoke.

This guy is an attention whore.

I think this guy is the same kind of shithead that smokes a cigarette in a public place.

And 'pot Activist' is not an excuse.

I'm a gun activist, I dont go around shooting my gun in the air to get media attention.

what kind of an idiot does this kind of shit? He is advocating marijuana on the basis of a health issue, so he goes and violates a public health policy by smoking in a public place.

Smoking in a public place is wrong, if he does that, why would people want to support him now?

Bad move. He just shot himself in the foot.
