Dozens of topless women march for equality in Maine

A forecast of sunny skies in April seems like the perfect time to put the top down. But a drive in a convertible isnt what some Maine women had in mind Friday.

Same goes for men. Please, men, keep your shirts on too!!

That said, why would women want to be walking topless in public? I for one don't feel comfy with my boobies for grabs, making moves I don't want them to make, not to mention the sweaty feel...

    Keep your shirts on!

It's actually already legal in Maine for women to go topless, as it is in BC. They're just trying to make it socially acceptable. They'd probably have better luck if they did it in ones or twos, just casually, and picked their spots to do it. Ride your bike topless, or lie in the park topless. That should certainly be their right.

But shop topless? I mean, who would want to make that socially acceptable for ANYONE??

I'd rather see women free go topless than be forced to wear a burka.

Well if it became socially acceptable, then we wouldn't worry about it. I believe the ancient Greeks went in for one tit hanging out, in in Europe there was a time when upper class women went topless to functions etc. Doubt if the peasants had much use for it. But what's to awful about a pair of tits? I spent some time living on Wreck Beach in the 60's, and after a bit, Nakedness just becomes normal.

I grew up on a nude beach, that's not the point. The point, imo, is that a little cover is way more sexy than totally naked, and some people I just do not need to see naked, either male of female.

These women aren't promoting toplessness for sexiness. Quite the opposite. They just want to take their shirt off when it suits them. If you grew up on a nude beach, then you know about it, just plain nudity loses it's oh, wow charge if it's everywhere. But it sure can feel good to walk about in the breeze a flappin and all. Swimming nekkid is nicer too, tho I guess it will never make it to the Olympics because of the drag factor.

I am not talking on a beach, I am talking in the city, or store, or restaurant, where it is a problem to feed your baby...

I know plain nudity loses its wow-factor, but it doesnt lose its "ewwww, I dont want to eat lunch next to that"...

I have absolutely no problem with nudity on a beach, or camping, but I do have it in a restaurant or store. Thats is where hygiene comes in.

Oh, absolutely. I don't want to sit on a plastic bus seat in the summer that a fat naked broad just sat on. Of course hygiene should be considered, and most restaurants already have no shoes, no shirt no service rules. But just walking down the street, if that is their desire, let em go for it. Not many women will anyway, not do most men.

But the ones that do, I don't want to see!
