The chief of U.S. Central Command warned Kandahar residents on Friday of a violent summer ahead, predicting "horrific actions" by insurgents as his troops try to drive the Taliban from the southern Afghan city.

    Wait, what happened to letting the Afghan army do that crap? We've been training them for nearly a decade already.

    Training them for nearly a decade? Nope. 4 years from scratch.. it doesn't happen over night.

    The article fails to mention that every "spectacular attack" by the insurgence this year has been thwarted by ANA and ANP forces with minimal damage done. It's very impressive and shows how far they've come.
