US Navy officially ends ban on women serving on submarines

KINGS BAY NAVAL SUBMARINE BASE, Ga. - The first U.S. women allowed to serve aboard submarines will be reporting for duty by 2012, the Navy said Thursday as the military ordered an end to one of its few remaining gender barriers.

    Well I thought that joke was hilarious. I'll have to resort to the second best comment.

    Good for them, but I think they're working too hard on the Privacy Issue, Namely because it's properly a lost cause.

    I dont think guys are going to join the navy in order to work with women on a sub. Like wise I doubt not working on a sub is what was holding women from a career in the Navy.
