A couple in Kamloops had their three youngest children removed by the B.C. government after they gave shelter to their violent, mentally ill adult son, who had been turned away from government care.

What a sad story. And typical of a govt that can only make things worse, won't use it's imagination and actually save a buck in the process.

That poster has got a good point - the govt is us. But, look at how society is disintegrating - look at how nobody helped the poor old guy who was being mugged. We're all to busy chasing the buck to create caring communities. Immigration doesn't help, it's been shown that multicultural neighborhoods are less trusting- even people within a given culture trust each other less. The neocon agenda is destroying us from within. What did Thatcher say there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first." How's that working out so far? I'll take Clinton's "it takes a village" any day.

We should have waited for Trevor to break one of his younger siblings necks and then this would have been averted but now, Of course, it's the governments fault. They were already being traumatized, they were sleeping with knives under their pillows. The gov minimized the damage done to the other children due to parental negligence. Now Trevor is in the same situation he was in before he terrorized his own family... prison. (Trevor was living in a secure youth residence, with 24-hour supervision, when he turned 19.)

You obviously have no personal experience with either setting. Two completely different settings!

$6,000 per month would be better utilized housing Trevor in a safe, 24 hr monitored residential setting, than paying a foster family to keep the youngster away from the rest of his family. As usual, govt gets a 'big fail'!
