Icelanders are amused at outsiders' attempts to pronounce the name of their "Eyjafjallajokull" glacier, the one causing all the travel misery in Europe. The video in the gallery, doing well on BuzzFeed, thanks reporters for giving the nation "a good laugh
Over the past 1,100 years, Eyjafjallajkull has erupted four times: in 920, in 1612, between 1821 and 1823, and in 2010. Each of the first three of these incidents preceded an eruption in the nearby subglacial volcano, Katla. Katlaa much more active volcano known for its powerful subglacial eruptions and its large magma chamber, much larger than that of the Eyjafjallajkull volcano systemhas not shown any unusual activity, such as expansion of the crust or seismic activity, in 2010, although geologists have been concerned about its general instability since 1999. Some geophysicists in Iceland support the notion that the recent volcanic eruption at Eyjafjallajkull may trigger a second eruption at Katla, one which would cause major flooding due to melting of glacial ice.

In a way, it is. The airlines, for instance, have no legal liability for this event because it is (even under European law) an Act of God.
Then, when you add in the wave of respiratory cancers that are projected to start hitting European health care systems in about 5-10 years (silica in the lungs being a proven carcinogen) we'll get to see just how financially viable the vaunted European health care systems are.
 Now they know the chuckle we get when the Americans report about Saskatchewan.
I always heard it as "Sa-Scatch-A-WAn"
When it's really, at least how I hear it, "Si-sCatch-A-Win"
Or Quebec is pronounced as "qWA-bec" in the US.
And the World laughs cause Iceland is somewhat important for a few weeks.
Didn't the last time that sucker blow it was a few years?

Right after the stigmata appeared on his hands, his head spun around.
Icelanders are very proud of their language. It is supposed to be very difficult to master.
What's their word for amazing?
Maybe we should ask the Icelanders what their word for bankrupt is?
