Ontario's newly streamlined human rights watchdog is swamped with allegations of sex, race and disability discrimination, the Star has found.

Of course if they make it even easier to file a claim everybody will do it. It's free money with no downside. Too bad wite men aren't welcome, or literally the whole province would be going after each other.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The answer is stop immigration for 10 yrs..give the ones who came here time to integrate and be part of Canadian culture.. they bring the racims, prejudice and culture bias with them.. this happened before but it is worse since we allowed immigration from the middle east..

Filing Human Right Complaints has become a Cottage Industry.

I read that those tamils who came to BC last winter are now living on welfare and demanding their rights to bring their families here ... hello! we take them in and give them the gift that keeps on giving for refugees and now they are yelling discrimination... go figure!

The answer is to take away the ability of these Human Rights Gestapos to award monetary damages. I'll guarantee you'll see the number of complaints drop by 90%. If you want the Gestapo to force your workplace to institute a tolerance policy, then they can do that. You want money because they didn't? File a civil suit in a proper court, not the current kangaroo version.

Now that's a good idea. You could go to court with your HRC ruling as backup. But the argument is that many victims (there really are some) don't have the money to go to court. Still, a way has to be found out of this mess - there is just too much inducement to file a claim with no downside for making spurious accusations.

Section 13 has to go, Ezra Levant's Shakedown is a good book about the HRC.

Finally, proof that the HRC system is not only illegal but pooched and is going to self destruct because of the basic human greed it championed.

It couldn't happen to a nicer organization.

While I fully understand that there really are legitimate complaints, I'm pretty sure they could seriously reduce their backlog by telling people to get a fuckin' life when they complain about stupid shit like that lesbian that was offended by a comedian's comments, for example.

In BC, the first head of our commission was a dyke - Mary Woo Sims (cool name, eh?) You really think she's going to tell a fellow lesbo who is being oppressed by a phallocentric, homophobic, patriarchal, male entitled white man to get a life? She's going to congratulate the woman for her courage to stand up against the male gaze and be empowered, add a few 00's to the award. That's what govts brought in human rights commissions for - to get the victim's industry off their backs, hire a few of them at huge salaries and make life miserable for a few people. If the complaint is against the govt, what does the politician care, it's not their money?
