Police have called off their search for a four-year-old Quebec boy who went missing from the yard of his home.

    It reminds us that even leaving the kids unattended for some minutes can be dramatic.

    You go inside to pee and you tell him to stay there. Then the phone rings. You go outside and the worse happened. :(

    ...but his tuque was found about four kilometres downstream of his home late Friday afternoon.

    Pretty good clue that he did drown.

    I've lived on the banks of that river myself and I know what it looks like this time of year.

    I had a 2 year old at that time and he never went near the river.
    I built an enclosure and that's where he played when he was outside.

    They say that after 48 hours of a disappearance, the chances of finding someone drop significantly.
    Also, the most plausible possibility is that he drowned in the river.

    Continuing intense search is a waste of time and man power. They will continue to search the river downstream for the corpse to show up.
