Joyce Green is the only one of the 16 profs actually named. I guess we can let her know how we feel: http://www.arts.uregina.ca/drupal/joyce-green

Disgusting. I may send her an email in a few days when I think I can write something civilized.

Sixteen U of R professors have signed a letter denouncing the program as "a glorification of Canadian imperialism in Afghanistan and elsewhere. We do not want our university associated with the political impulse to unquestioning glorification of military action."

Every last one of them should be hounded out of their jobs.

Oh, and the "Canadian imperialism" bullsh*t just makes me sick.

Somebody's already done the work for me. That's a link to the open letter signed by the 16 profs.
At the bottom, all the names are linked to their contact info.

    Let 'em have it.

Considering children of university employees get free school (books not included) .............she should STFU.

I completely forgot about that! Great point. I would love to be in an argument with them, say that exact line, then proceed to spit at their feet.

Not a week goes by that a story pops up that makes me wonder of the relevance of universities these days. They're staffed by ivory tower profs who know nothing of the real world except what benefits they can extract from it. They live off the avails of those who sacrifice, some making the ultimate sacrifice, while making no sacrifice of their own (unless you want to count their time, which no one does). Maybe it would make these "profs" happy if we agreed to exclude all the children of fallen soldiers who are Jewish?

Haven't heard of it changing but that's the way it was in my day.

I sent specifically worded e-mails to the Poli Sci profs suggesting they haven't the education to teach their classes since they obviously have no idea what the definition of "imperialism" is.
The term "Canadian Imperialism" is a friggin oxymoron fer cryin' out loud
