The NHL's discipline practices have been under the microscope in recent weeks, and another ugly incident has taken place that is likely to test the system further.

Both hits were high, though I don't see intentional head shots on either one.

Seabrook wasn't and didn't playing the puck. Wisniewski left his feet and hit him high.

I found the way Seabrook just crumbled on the ice, after just standing there for a second, was a bit disturbing...

I agree with Bob Mackenzie - it was the Grand Slam of illegal hits..

Perry tried to dodge Seabrook's hit and because of that, it looked a lot worse than it really was. As Regina said, Perry had the puck, so a hit is acceptable.

But the hit on Seabrook was a deliberate and intentional attempt to injure someone. Throw the book at him.

Agreed, but COLON Campbell may not be tuned in as he is in Boston tonight trying to clean up another mess before it happens based on his inaction on another deliberate and intentional attempt to injure

    This bears repeating.

Sorry, I was at work and didn't see him leave his feet as I was multitasking, I see it now.

He got 8 games. Should have been 10. Not sure what the fine is. Does anyone know how they work out the fines? Does the player forfeit their salary just for the 8 games, or does the NHL tack on more to the fine as well?

Campbell is an idiot, the NHL looks like a bunch a amateurish monkeys - Richards should have had the book thrown at him for Booth in October and Cooke should be gone till Savard comes back. I pay to watch stars, not goons, so take a look at the Olympics (some of the best hockey in years!) and fix this nonsense before Crosby is taken out.

Brutal hit. 8 Games is nowhere near enough.

The odd thing is that, on the road they were roommates while they played together in Chicago. Maybe Seabrook snores.........
