Looks like Manitobans got ho-ho-hosed over the Christmas break. By spending $3.8 million, holiday revellers set a single-day record for alcohol sales at Manitoba Liquor Control Commission stores Dec. 23.

Well, you can only take so much of family, crowds and the cold.

Spend 10 years in Winnipeg and by mid-December all you wanted to do was drink until the spring floods came, and then drink some more until the mosquitos came, and then drink some more when winter came.(There is no Fall in Winnipeg, it goes straight from summer to -30)

Setting a record for alcohol sales comes as no surprise here.
