"The freedom that the veterans fought for is what it's all about."

Well, I don't like it and I think it's very disrespectful, but cherry picking when people can exercise freedom isn't really freedom. It was legal, just another example of PETA jackassedness.

No apology, just a jerk-off answer. Typical PETA moron.

just another dumb idiot who has no respect for anything,
from a useless organization that only cares about its' own glory.

Had no respect for PETA before, so nothing lost. :)

They had a permit. I hate them with flying colours, but they were allowed to protest. Peaceful assembly and Freedom of Speech.

PETA member Virginia Fort said she hadn't realized her group wasn't supposed to set up next to the cenotaph.

Once again, as usual, you have no idea.

    Merry Christmas.

I agree with Mr C. though. Common sense isn't really common, but I take it, that when you apply for a permit, you have to specify the place you want to protest. City Hall allowed it, so maybe either City Hall should be blamed, or maybe the vets should get a thicker skin... Why aren't you "supposed to set up next to a cenotaph"? Because the vets find that? Is it law? If not, PETA showed common courtesy to take it down, if it is, City Hall was at fault.

It's not always "against" them when you don't agree...

I do think its disrespectful, but I think every protest is disrespectful.

"That's all I have to say about that." Wasn't that a line from Forrest Gump? Just showing the same mentality level I guess.

Maybe now the city hall bureaucrats will learn not to hand out protest permits at cenotaphs now. PETA should have known better.

...Why do I have to be in Montreal when I had the opportunity to yell at a few jackasses

I live a few minutes from the Vietnam War Memorial, and maybe half an hour to the larger WWII memorial. Both are beautiful and saddening at the same time

Windsor City Hall never was known for its brainpower and PETA is only concerned with PETA. They don't think or care about anything but their own misguided agenda.

    No offense, but doesn't everyone?

If they weren't, no one would be angry, because there would be understanding.

And, imo, brainpower and government just doesn't go well together

I doubt city hall could have anticipated this but I doubt the vets are PETA type people and just took the oportunity to move them on.

Good point. I guess that most protest groups would fall into that category.
And IMO brain power and government would go together like mac 'n' cheese, just that the two very rarely meet

How I wish I was there with a bucket of KFC (whom they really hate) chicken to taunt them.
