Prime Minister Stephen Harper paid tribute Sunday to the Canadian soldiers who died during the Battle of Hong Kong in 1941 and lay buried in the Sai Wan War Cemetery

    Actually, Osborn was the last Canadian to be awarded (postumostly) the Victoria Cross during WWII, though his action may have been the first, it was not until after the POWs were released that word of his heroics were made known to the powers that be and he was awarded the VC, his wife accepted it in 1946 I believe it was.
