SHANGHAI China is preparing to declare war on golfers, just as soon as it figures out how many there are and where they play.

Oh who the hell cares, it's GOLF for cryin out loud. And I see China's concern. I mean look at Canada, there are MANY areas you can't drive 5 miles without seeing one of these damn things.
I mean hell, living in Cambridge ON, there were more than half dozen golf courses within a 15 minute drive or less. The city itself has 5 golf courses in it or JUST outside it,(that I know of) and there's only 120,000 people that live there.
Look at how stupidly serious this country takes its golf. The friggin ARMY was called out over a stupid little 9 hole course. We all remember Oka don't we?

I understand China's concerns in this matter, viable farmland in that country is at a premium. And it seems to me that in a country with over a billion people, food production SHOULD be more important than a round of golf for the rich.

I agree that China should be saving it's land for food but it's telling that their unable to enforce those rules. I doubt there's much doubt that the folks flaunting those laws are the priviledged ones and not the average workers. It's just another example of some piggies being more equal than other piggies.

Actually , I used to before my back was broken. But I was never a fanatic about it, my week wasn't ruined if I didn't or couldn't go golfing.
