A new NASA rocket engine designed with Canadian help may allow astronauts to one day travel to Mars in just 39 days, rather than the six months experts predict the journey would take under conventional rocket power.

Cool Technology, I would hope to see a space colony on Mars before I leave this world.

Then again with the advances our grandparents witness in the last century, I don't see why not.

From the year 1900 from horse and buggy to the 2000, space travel, the Internet and many other advancements. What does the next 100 years hold for humanity.

I'm unsettled by the appearance of the North Korean flag in the provided photo... 8O

I'm thinking that some adventurous souls will pursue space travel and we may even see a human being leave the solar system before 2100.

That's only if something spurs us into space. You figure at the start of the last century powered flight was just a fantasy and in 66 years we went from rudimentary powered flight to walking on the moon and I don't think it is irrational to imagine that by 2100 we will be exploring the edge of our solar system and, maybe, we may even send a probe or mission to another solar system.

I am still one of the "crazy" people who think that we were never on the moon...but I do agree. With how far we have become in the last century (hell even in the last 10 years) technologically, I have no doubt of space travel to mars.

However, I am still waiting for hovercrafts ;)
