Their photo is still taken though. There is a difference.

It's a difference thar only a lawyer would make.
The purpose of the photo is to identify the card holders.

I have more symapathy for their position than the Moslems. The Hutterites are a group for peace, however the law is the law.

Can't you identify someone based on the shape & size of their head and the shape/color of one's eyes?

Should be easy if they're dressed exactly the same in person as they are in the photo.

With these people, they don't wany any photo of any kind taken of them, therefore there isn't even the above to confirm who they are.

People arn't cartoon charactors. They change their clothes.
Burka's hide the shape of the face.

If the policy is that drivers licences require a photograph for identification and these folks don't want the picture, they fail the requirements.
    No picture, no licence.

Burqas are generally the same shape and design. Perhaps different colors and designs on them, but they remain the same overall.

^ That's enough for me to determine difference.

policy is that drivers licences require a photograph for identification and these folks don't want the picture, they fail the requirements.

    Agreed.

This is just a couple of colonies. The Holden Colony, just down the road from here een has some members pictures in their business ads in the local newspapers and on brochures that they hand out.

if the hutterites consider the drivers license necccessary, then i dont understand why they would still consider posing for a drivers license photo as a willing act.

I thought they abstained from modern technology anyway? They can't possibly want to drive cars yet believe that photos steal your soul and other such thing.

Those are the Amish. Hutterites are a lot like them, but they don't reject all modern technology. They just try to use it as little as possible.
