Last time I checked, working in porn was not a crime.

Are they going to start firing people because their spouse works in a sex shop, sells hot-dogs from a cart or is, oh no, a lawyer?

Besides, there are former porn-"actors" in Italian politics and there is one in the states that may try out for senator.

Well, if the laws there are anything like the laws here then you are wrong.

First of all he is within the first 6 months of his job and typically that is a probation period.

But even though it is a probation period they need to be reasonable if they decide to let him go.

If they gave him 6 months severance and healthcare benefits that is very, very generous.

Perhaps he has a case for something else�discrimination, slander�but that would be pushing it.

You can fire anyone at anytime without reason as long as you follow the generally accepted rules for dismissing a person without cause. Around here it is typically 1 month salary per year of service.

To get six months severance after 5 months of service � that is extraordinary.

3 months probationary in Alberta anyways, and you can fire someone for no reason with no explanation in that time.
As far as severance goes, it only counts if he accepted a severence package, they can offer and he can refuse at which point he could still make a court case out of it

Technically, you are right.. they dont need a reason; and, when you can
keep your mouth shut about the real reasons for firing someone, no problem.

However, in this case, everyone will blah blah this and blah blah that.
