MONTREAL - A New York town should be the big tourism winner after the National Battlefields Commission's decision to cancel plans to re-enact the Battle of the Plains of Abraham this summer.

I was laughing my ass off over this one.
Poor whiney Quebec. They want their tourism dollars but they just don't want to do anything for them.

Sucks to be xenophobic idiots that are stuck in the 1700's.

They wanted to do the same thing for the St Jean Baptiste because 2 groups were singing in english. 10 semi-bearded hippy teenagers showed up. They cancelled the re-enactement for them...

They were "booed" by the other thousands people there.
When the separatists MLA and MP tried to mix the St Jean with the "We shall have our country" tenses, they were booed too.

Actually the more these francophone bigots do this the more everybody in Quebec realizes that the separatists are vying for a xenophobic french only "country" and the more they ensure that only the most radical francophone would ever vote yes in a referendum.

The separatists will never win.. there is a certain faction that will vote for them, but its a minority. Most Quebecois(e) want to be in a strong and united country and they are concerned about the economy, jobs and health care and education and they know that it comes from a united Canada..

It is certainly something that I would like to see as a tourist, but cancelling it for security reason is pure BS.
