Superb news I hope he rots in hell. Many many people have entrusted their life savings to this individual and have lost it all.

Thank God I dodn't have any money in him, unfortunatly not everyone can say that.

The better part of the sentence is that the judge has ordered all of his assests forfeited.

He will get out of jail in 2159. Too bad they'll remove the festering corpse long before then.

I can't understand anyone being stupid enough to invest everything in one pot, without an understanding of what the holdings are and where previous "paper profits" came from.

I look at most annual reports and the tower of prospectuses I've requested over the years, and within 10 minutes decide whether to chuck them or check them out.

Investing should not be treated in the same way as purchasing a lotto 6/49 quick pick.

Like I've sadi before, a better sentence would be to make Madoff live on the streets like a Dickensian urchin.

If he's good in jail he gets half, out in 75 years, a travesty! Homolka got out in way less time......10 years for killing little girls?

God bless Canadian judges and our magnificent Supreme Court.

Screw the sentence, what about all the money his wife and family kept? While I don't wish to see the woman pushing a shopping cart on the street I don't think it's fair she's still running around in a Rolls and still has multi million dollar vacation homes all over the world with yachts docked outside of them. And what about the boys? Who's money finance their investment firm when it started off? Every cent that Madoff spent or gave to someone should be tracked down and given back to the people he hurt.
