    Do you citizens actually pay these people to come up with these ideas mt?

    If their going to do that, they need to build a couple of bridges from downtown across the river. :lol:

    I think they put the cart before the Horse on this one.

    Memorial Drive has a green space beside it with a twin pathway system running through it, but this ding bat wants to shut half the road as well.

    These dumb ideas come from Calgary.

    Then what next does she want to do, open up Stephen Ave to traffic?

    they did that already.

    The mall is actually the portion of 8 Avenue SW between 4 Street SW and 1 Street SE. It is open to vehicles only from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

    plenty and Memorial trail along the Bow has LOTS of trails and paths for biking, running, etc

    There is NO need to close two lanes of traffic just because.

    This alderman has about the same amount of sense as our mayor...NONE

    Can't wait until the next civic election, these clowns need to go.

    Sounds like another anti-car crusade to me then. If these dingbats want to live like our forefathers they should probably pack up their donkey carts and move out to the sticks and leave the rest of us alone.

    Too bad he's one of the only ones with some common sense at silly hall, if we could just flush the toilet and get rid of the likes of Farrell and her clan of clowns.

    I guess that shows how long its been since I was down there at night. The last time I was there after 6:00pm you could still wonder around aimlessly all night, shopping for drugs and what not.

    Some funny comments below the article;

    What a ridiculous idea. Chalk this one up with Eau Claire Market. This time it is taking an Ottawa idea with different nuances and trying it here. The Eau Claire market was an attempt o take Granville island with its nuances and transplant it here. Let's come up with something original for once. Calgary is a city of 1/2 ass attempts at taking successfull ideas and using them, but never with a full understanding as to why they worked and what would upset them. This is the most un-original city I have ever lived in. How many great ideas from Edmonon did they steal and have fail here too!

    ROTFL
