Of course McKay didnt get it, he isnt European plain and simple. As we all know the job goes to a European always has.

The Americans have always led the military side of NATO. On the political end the Europeans won't allow anyone other than themselves to lead.

Canada doesn't seem to be an "equal" member of this alliance.

I am starting to think Canada should leave the Alliance. No one seems to give two hoots about our struggles in Afghanistan or our opinion anyway.

Still stay a part of NORAD though.

NORAD has become a paper tiger because of missile defence. The only alliances worth a dam are economic.

I don't think they will unless the people of Europe force the leaders hands to the task. The underlying point Obama made there was you can criticize the US all you want but that isn't going to get the economy back or stop the threat of attacks, oh and btw they will attack Europe before they attack the US anyway.

It doesn't matter what Canada has done, or does. Never has and never will. Canada is just that country that will protect other countries and go out of there way and when it commits to something you can always count on it to stay commited to there obligations. Like when we entered Afghanistan and took the most violent region while most other NATO countries diddn't enter and others only took the green zones.

It seems the only way to get any respect anymore is to either be a european nation or be a warmongering nation with a big military. I bet China if they joined NATO would have more power than Canada would.
