STRASBOURG, FranceIt's not quite NATO's rogue state, but Canada is increasingly out of step with allies who are touting a new path to Afghan peace that leans heavily on regional powerhouses Russia and Iran.

Can the Cons win? They bow and take it, people jump on them for kissing up, they stand up to foreign contries and suddenly they are accused of trying to start WW III. I may be ignorant but what experience does Bob Rae have with foreign affairs? (Serious question)

As for Coderre, he can go.

Pen it's the Toronto Star and their readers. In the Stars world if Stephen Harper cured cancer, they would claim he caused doctors to lose their jobs. Pay no mind to the Star, it's bird cage liner only! 8)

It's not about winning, it's about doing what's best for Canada. Using Cold War style rhetoric shows how little foreign experience we have.

In regards to your question about foreign experience for Rae and Coderre, the answer is the same as MacKay had in 2006. XD Seriously, I'd guess not very much, but the most experienced guys like Axworthy and Manley retired years ago.

Bob Rae, just like 99.9% of the current Liberal party, only has meaningful experience. Ditto Coderre, who actually gives Rae a run for his money in being about the most disgusting person in the entire country.

On the main subject, I'd actually like to see more Russian involvement in Afghanistan if for no other reason than to see the Russians have to send massive amounts of packed body bags back home to Moscow just like they did with their invasions (that no Liberals ever bother to talk about, BTW) into Chechnya.

I guess Harper wants to carry on where Bush left off--the little black and white world with him and Jesus against the world..

    Just to read this right....

""Of course it leaves a certain aftertaste," Georgiy Mamedov, Russia's ambassador to Canada, said this week.

"It doesn't wash well with our politicians in Moscow, but it hasn't undermined our bilateral co-operation on Afghanistan, on the Arctic or anywhere.""

What bilateral cooperation with Russia in the Arctic?

I'd say Canada knew a lot of foreign affairs and the best interests. Did everybody else in the world forget that Russia invaded Afghanistan and killed way more of there population than this current war? and they diddn't have the RUE or tactics we used. They had little to no care about civilian casualties and everything was open game.

Afghanistan hates Russians guts and they want Russia to be a key factor for stabalizing Afghanistan? Yeah I am sure the Taliban and the Afghani people will be thrilled to have there ex-enemies come to there country to 'protect' them after there last visit to kill them. With countries like Canada who hadn't done shit to Afghanistan or Afghani and we are having troubles keeping the local population from joining the ranks of the Taliban and fighting us. I am sure nobody in Afghanistan will have any past grudges against Russia and that won't start a country wide revolt against Russia's involvement and turn all our years of hard work down the shitter .

Why does the mod who makes these edits id him/herself. Maybe take the cursing out of the big red sticky at the top if mentioning Coderre fornicating with his hat is so offensive.

Hey, at least both sides of the Afghani population will unite against a common cause...again

The Afghani like the Russian enough to accept donations of their weapons, Putin as has been pushing to arm the locals where NATO wont.

I think this is just another example of the Canadian media mafia getting it wrong again.

So should we follow our own foreign policy path, or should we just do what our "bigger" NATO buddies tell us to?

More like a case of the usual Peanut Gallery proving some people will still support a PM so out of touch with reality. Even Mulroney still had loyal supporters at the end.
Implying media conspiracy theories for reporting what the majority of Canadians and now the world already knows?
