A Conservative MP recently admitted to breaking Canada's elections law, even as a Tory minister boasted last week that his party always follows the rules.

no excuse. If you broke the law you should face the consequences.

$4,000.00 doesn't sound like a lot, what is the overall limit?

No finding like this would suprise me after the stunts they pulled during the Wheat Board elections. I think they're still explaining themselves in court over that. :x

Religon has no place in deciding what is right or wrong.

However this is a little disconcerting!!

well if the law was broken, the only thing they really should do is step down and allow for a by-election.

Of course. I love the way you give the Liberals a pass on everything and constantly insult the Conservatives by calling them rednecks and bigots and what have you. You are probably one of the best debaters on the site.

things happen during campaigns , they can get very expensive especially in competive ridings , remember this happened during 2006 and that riding was vacant then . and i don't think he or his campaign team did this intentionally by the sounds of things . anyways i read on the pundits guide a couple weeks back about this , 3 other candidates also did the same if there math was correct and 2 of them were liberals and other 1 a conservative. i really don't think its all a big deal just some honest mistakes in expenses and what counts as one .

theres no point in that , this happened in 2006 , the riding just re-elected him in 2008 and he wouldn't of made the same mistake again . so they are clearly ok with him as there mp and the results weren't even close last election either .

I don't give a damn what party we're talking about. If you cheat, you get your ass kicked out.

We could use that attitude in BC. The Liberals here are cheating all over the place.
