I wonder where people get the notion that the Conservatvies are somehow more fiscally responsible. Paul M<artin had to clean up after the Mulroney mess. And big surprise--another Conservative government, and we're back to deficit spending.

Apart from not being able to run a peanut stanbd, that's teh other probnlem with the Conservatvies--their inability to accept responsibility for anything that happens in their government. It's always somebody else's fault with them.

No, he is not responsible for the world economic hardships. He responsible for steering Canada through it without digging us deeper into debt through responsible budgetting. He didn't do that because he was more concerned with gettign power. The Liberals resisted calls back in 97/98 to stop paying down the debt and put the surplus into more social programs and the like. To their credit they realized that paying down the debt was our best bulwark against the hard times everybody knew was coming.

Yet still its not his fault is it? Its never the conservatives fault for anything.

lol, You got right, plus we are doing a lot better than most G20 countries are. When will people learn that the government can not and should not manage an economy, that is one of reasons we are in this mess.

If the current "leader" of the Libs has such strong reservations, then they are duty bound to vote down the budget. The NDP will and they've been doing what they said for a long time now.

Sounds like you folks have been listening to Ujhol again. :D

They are not "duty-bound" to do anything of the sort.

They may not be "duty-bound", but if it is so bad for Canada then why would they vote for it? Unless they are playing politics with our money.

It's funny how a party that supposedly preaches accountability knows zero about responsibility... :D

If Harper wants to dig his own grave, it's not Dion's job to say, "Stop shovelling".
