Oh gross. I SO wouldn't want to be the person who found him and had to deal with that.

    Talk about traumatized....

    That's an understatement Lily.

It has been my misfortune to have to help clean up after some particularly messy suicides. I still think of these peoples actions -as twisted and off balance as they were at the time- as totally ignorant and uncaring of others. Someone has to discover them and then deal with the situation. The details are much more graphic than I am willing to subject anyone with. Conversely, I have had to deal with a 'suicide by medication', and said a small prayer of thanks. I can even muster a little bit of sympathy towards these poor bastards!

Somehow I don't think the well-being of others enters into their minds at all when they commit their acts.

Obviously, this is only speculation on my part. I don't think that anyone goes to bed one day, healthy, happy, no particularly stressing issues, has a good nights sleep then gets up and commits suicide. I am sure that suicide is something that one would think about and mull over for some time prior to the attempt. However, I do view suicide not so much as 'one not necessarily wanting to die' rather one can find no solution to their problem and see suicide as the only alternative.

For most, just the prospect of having suicide as an alternative is comforting. Almost everyone who attempted suicide at one point and was close to succeeding never attempt suicide again. It's a psychic illnes, not an act made by a logical and rational mind.

I think you mean psychological illness.

This guy had to be VERY ill...more ill that it would normally take for someone to take their own life
