Team Canada may be forced to play without its familiar Maple Leaf logo at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, the victim of an International Olympic Committee rule that is only now being enforced.

    VANOC also copyrighted parts of the national anthem for their own purposes. Want to sing the national anthem--hope you got a nickel for VANOC's duties! These guys are clowns running around blowing millions upon millions of taxpayers dollars with no accountability. Frankly, if the Olympics are going to act like some corporate entity, why should we shell out taxpayers dollars to support them.

    Sorry, I live in Vancouver. It's not like I'll be able to afford any of the events. All I know is that my taxes are going through the rood so a bunch of bureaucrats adn milliaires can have a big party on my tab.

    reading a bit of the article its not VANOC's fault, so i don't know what you guys are ranting about above, its the IOC. Maybe try reading the article, its nothing to do with Vancouver.

    Actually I did read it, and it seems the problem lies with the Canadian Olympic Commitee:
    Nicholson, however, believes the COC's refusal to sign the same form as in past Games effectively kills any chance of Hockey Canada being able to use its logo on jerseys at the 2010 Games.

    And those women ski-jumpers are still protesting because they won't let them play.

    They're going to dress us up in those made-in-china clown-suits again, and make us dance around in these unfair contests so the rich can party, and pretend the rest of the world even knows who they are. I agree with Zipperfish. These Olympics suck. We were hosed.

    It's not that bad. It says, "familiar Maple Leaf logo" and "Hockey Canada's trademark Maple Leaf with a hockey player". I just watched the '94 shoot-out on youtube and they didn't wear this logo.
