In the 20 years veteran Alan Lawrence has been selling poppies he has never felt as dishonoured as he did yesterday when Hudson Bay Company security kicked him to the curb

Wow, if at all possible I will never shop at the Bay, Zellers or Home outfitters again. The Bay should issue public apology and follow it up with a hefty donation to the Legion.

Wow. As if people can be this obnoxious. This man went off to fight so that my generation wouldn't have to.

Burger King did the same thing a couple of years back, though I am not really into fast foods, they are off my list of hangover munchies destinations, I hope others do the same

    This is reprehensible!

Seriously, how could we go about perpetrating a boycott of these stores? I would really be interested in getting involved in one. Anybody here have any experience in such a thing?

The fact that The Hudsons Bay Company, who has generations of history with Canada, would do something like this.

There is ONLY ONE WAY that these pricks MIGHT be able to redeem themselves. That would be to pledge to match total contributions to the poppy fund each year from now on! A boycott will cost them a hell of a lot more!

"They have some nerve resenting me standing on their property and telling me to get off. I couldn't believe anyone could be so obnoxious.

Could it be that this guy has the nerve, going onto the property, apparently without asking beforehand?

Looks like another pompous diva-vet to me.

"We made it possible for him (the security guard) to have a job. He wouldn't have it if Hitler had won."

Management did what it had to do in the face of a PR disaster. In effect, they were bullied into apologising.

I would think so after bullying an old man out the door who's only trying to raise money to help veterans. Why do you hate veterans Streaker?

In the 20 years veteran Alan Lawrence has been selling poppies he has never felt as dishonoured as he did yesterday when Hudson Bay Company security kicked him to the curb.

He was inside the Bay office tower at Yonge and Bloor Sts. selling poppies like he had for years when security told him to get of the property.

Could the difference this year be that The Hudson's Bay Co. is now owned by an American company?
