I'm not so upset with the sellers here but the importers who are bringing these to the Canadian market. These are the folks that should be held accountable because their the ones making the profit.
Importers should be forced to test and guarantee the product they want to import meets Canadian regulations, and not just when they bring it in but also through random product testing. If it dosen't, they should be sued into the ground.

Any thoughts concerning the ecoli, listeria, and madcow incidents that should tell the world that all Canadian food is unsafe?

As a nation, we have the duty to regulate our own products and for the most part, we do a pretty good job. If a product in Canada is bad, we can track the manufacturer, processor, rtc, and deal with the problems. We have none of that accountability in China, Tiawan, Pakistan, and so many other nations. The importers are Canadian businesses and it's within our jusrisdiction to hold them to account.

..but you just want to spin this..

Spin? You have become an absolute raving nutjob about the orient. You cry and complain, piss and moan, and bitch non-stop about their failings but when our own are highlighted you just shrug your shoulders as usual.

As usual all you ever do is bitch about everybody else. You never have any answers yourself nor do you lift one single finger to make life better for any other human being.

You spend more hours on the internet then the rest of us at our jobs and you spend almost all of it looking for more things to bitch about and more things to blame on the Libs, or China, or Pakistan.

Its no wonder you are such a joke.

Did any of those products come from Canada?
Did the poison milk, poison toothpaste, poison pet food?

Sure, we have problems but the solutions are within our country and system of laws to fix. We don't have that with foreign imports and I'm sick of hearing this stuff is dangerous when someone here is responsable for importing it for sale.

It's being reported that the Ghinese government is trying to hush a private lawsuit started by Chinese parents of dead or sick babies. If their own government and businesses are unaccountable to their own people, what chance does a foreign nation have of demaning them to clean up their shit? It's just not proactical, nor is it practical to dump this onto the sholders of consumers.

What the apologist(first for the Taliban now the Chinese) doesn't realise is that we have some recourse when our products become contaminated and cause injury or death. Laws actually exist and are enacted to deal with companies and organizations that endanger the health of Canadians. Also, unsafe products are the exception to the rule in Canada, unlike the source of many of these recalled products.

On an aside, China has used its booming economy to appease its masses and distract them from shitty political and social conditions. With an economic slowdown, and likely recession in the West, compiled with their atrocious safety records, who 's going to buy their shitty products and fund their economy? They are going to need some other distraction for the people. Military adventures worked for Bush, when it came to hiding domestic economic troubles, will the Chinese follow this path too?

    The tainted food sure did.

Regardless you cry about every other coutnries failings but ignore ours.

We had the last 60 or 70 years with every kind of enviornmental and health problem related to our products.

    Give it up.

That is one I am definately not looking forward to. China has the ability to project it's power in ways the old USSR never did. While the Chinese economy is dependant on making crap for export, there are far too many usefull idiots who are ready to sell out our manufacturing, electronics, high tech and auto indstry, just so they can save a few bucks.

Dino: Might be why Dion-Derby is so defensive of China?

Well I don't know about you but I'm the guy who has a 2 year old and a 6 year old who probably were using those said pacifiers. I figure that's sufficent ground for me to judge.
