The ONLY record of anyone voting at any poll, is the Voters
List, that has a line drawn through each name as the person votes,
by the poll clerk. There are NO copies of that cross-off list.
As soon as the count is done, that list IS SEALED INSIDE
THE BALLOT BOX, with all the used and unused ballots.
No "record" exists outside that box...and only upon a
recount can that ballot box be opened.
Are there dead people on the lists..? Yes... LOTS..based on all
those at our location, I think several thousand across the country.
Is it fairly easy for someone to pose as a dead person ? Not really.
A fairly common occurence is that a poll clerk may draw a line through
the 'wrong Joe Blow' if there are more than one...and there may well be
a 'dead Joe Blow' with his name above or below the one voting.
People are idiots. Writing a note on a ballot isn't going to get who you want elected. As for the the X being in the wrong spot, I agree, anyone who put there X beside Milligan's name put it in the wrong spot.
