Standing at the edge of his canoe over the frigid waters of the Arctic, Noah Annahatak raised his arm and thrust his harpoon into a 48-ton beast twice the length of his boat.

WAY too much euphoria over that kill.
Greenpeace is on the way, and they are MAD.
They had previously named that whale "McCartney"...
The EU will begin a boycott of whale-oil lamps, chewfat,
    and baleen corsets.

I don't know why Green Peace should have anything to do with this.

It a way of life for the Nunavik.

"The rush of emotion also reached across Nunavik, where whale meat will be distributed to its 14 villages."

I agree more with the way these popel killed the whale than a whaler with a harpoon.

I was bunking with a guy the first few days that hunts norwhale and others out near marble island just off the coast at Rankin inlet.
They dont do it for sport, hunting is a way of life for the "Inuk" You dont hunt then you rely on those that do.
Every night i see the lights from the nightriders on their quads going to hunt caribou.

On a sad note the food bank at rankin shut down last week after another break in. XD
