BEIJING - The admission, the one the Chinese did not want to hear, finally came on Saturday. The smog hanging over Beijing is getting so bad that the International Olympic Committee may have to consider postponing or shifting events.

The IOC won't call any of the games. They are too afraid of offending the Chinese. These games are bullshit.

Is it just me or is there a visible haze INSIDE the indoor venues?

Probably they're the only ones who can tolerate the crap air quality.

After he isn't the head ot IOC anymore, Jaques Rogge could well be the next Chnises Minster of Propaganda or whatever they call the minister of BS over there.

It's not smog, it's just a little bit of fog that has an orange tint.

Funny that no ones calling it pollution but I guess, per capita, it's only a lungfull each.

    Poor developing, Kyoto exempt country..

    Yep, no kyoto there eh?
And I'm sure the 'global warming' of the planet has nothing to do with the 500 plus coal fired power stations they have, not to mention the dirty factories that dot China by the thousands.

This all has been missed by the GW lobby who are notably quiet about this stuff.

Funny, they create enough pollution to see from space, yet they are given carte blanche to pump out as much pollution as they want. This makes as much sense as having smoking sections in enclosed spaces - ant these pricks are chain smokers. Their shit just drifts over into our airspace and ends up choking the entire planet. Not only are the Chinese the biggest threats to endangered species(yum-yum taste like chicken), they are a threat to all life on the planet in general. Carbon credits my ass - just more namby pamby bullshit from a bunch of Tofu and Granola chewing vegans that got excited when they scored a C- on an exam dealing with hard science.

    Well put shep!

I could never see why the GW types always skimmed over this stuff. As for carbon credits, a very silly idea.
It's like an alcoholic paying somebody else to go to the AA meetings for them while they carry on drinking. Makes no sense!
