Send that Black Hawk chopper to the St. Lawrence 'area'
if you want to nail some gun, cigarette and dope smugglers.
There'll be some controversy to deal with when you do it,
but it's well worth your time.

Umm...according to the article they already have:
After the Sept. 11, 2001, airplane hijackings, the U.S. Congress mandated the opening of five border-monitoring outposts to strengthen the security of the country's northern frontier. The Michigan branch is the final one to be opened.

The other four branches located in Bellingham, Wash., Grand Forks, N.D., Great Falls, Mont., and Plattsburgh, N.Y. were opened between 2004 and 2007.

I guess they aren't helping much...

There was a bomb threat the other day at the Sarnia/Port Huron crossing that closed the bridge for over an hour and a half causing a lineup at the border on the Sarnia side 10 km long. I wonder if customs on both sides of the border are less vigilant when screening people crossing the border due to the backed up traffic. It could be a perfect opportunity(and the reason for the false alarm) for someone wanting to avoid scrutiny when crossing the border if customs is less vigilant because they want to clear the lineup as quick as possible.

    Ummm...I did read the article.
My point was the Plattsburgh "initiative" was bullshit,
and had no Mohawk related cross-border crime component in it.
    See link.
Use the Black Hawk to sink a few expensive smuggling boats,
    maybe we get somewhere.
